Willows Class Trip to the Royal Observatory

This week, Willow Class visited the Royal Observatory in Greenwich.

Shortly after arriving we had a workshop where the children learned all about the different planets in the solar system. They also had the opportunity to role play at being an astronaut and with the use of a giant parachute we pretended we were blasting off into space. Following the workshop we had lunch. After lunch we explored the observatory, looking at lots of different photographs taken of the sky or in space. At the end of the day we went in to the planetarium and watched teddy trying to find the ‘Great Big Bear’ star constellation.

Although there were a few tired legs at the end of the day, the children had an amazing day.
