New Classes 2019 - 2020

New Classes 2019 - 2020

Please find above the details of classes for the new academic year 2019-2020. The children will have the opportunity to meet their new teachers in their new classroom on Thursday 11th July. Teachers will also be spending time visiting classes over the next fortnight to spend additional time with children who may need further support with transition.

At the end of the day on Thursday, all teachers will be found in their new classrooms between 3:20 and 4:00pm. Please feel free to pop in to say hello to your child’s new or old teacher and see their new classroom. This is an opportunity to meet and greet - a more personal parent meeting will be scheduled early on in the Autumn Term. Should you wish to talk to your child’s current class teacher about their progress, please feel free to arrange a time to meet them over the coming two weeks.

Being part of a group of schools provides staff with the opportunity to move to new roles and gain new experiences, whilst still remaining within the trust. In September, Miss Hart and Miss Waite will be taking up new roles within the Trust and we welcome back Mrs Dixon. We also welcome Mr Leslie as Deputy Headteacher, and Mr Harrison who will be working in classes across the school. Both have been working within one of our schools for many years and we are very excited to have them join us at Horn Park. Miss Ablitt and Miss Griffith two experienced teachers, and Miss Robinson who many of you will already know as she has been completing her schools direct training with us, will also join our teaching team.

At the end of this term, we say goodbye to Miss Pirttijarvi, who is leaving teaching to pursue training as an Educational Psychologist and Mr Gosling, who is joining the police and finally Miss Marriott will be leaving us to join a school in Lewisham.

As you will no doubt be aware, I will be going on maternity leave during the month of September. We are pleased to announce that in my absence, Miss Crosland, our current Deputy Head Teacher, will be taking on the role of Head of School. Miss Cosland has been at Horn Park for many years and I know the school will continue to thrive under her leadership. Ms Bernard will remain as Executive Headteacher of Horn Park.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank those staff who are moving on to new pastures for the dedication they have shown to the children at Horn Park. We wish them the very best in their new pursuits.

Please feel free to speak to either myself, Miss Crosland or Miss Bernard.
